Bespoke portraits,
lovingly created.

Hand‑drawn and painted from your photographs — fine‑detailed studies that capture the personality and quiet expression of the animals you love.

A note from the studio

Drawn slowly, with quiet attention.

Welcome to Jude Peace Portraits — where you'll find a varied selection of my work in pencil, watercolour and oil.

I specialise in portraits that capture an animal's personality and expression in fine detail, working from your own photographs. Each piece is a keepsake — a thoughtful gift, a private memorial, or a piece of art for the home.

A truly bespoke service: keep it realistic, or add a little imagination of your own. The choice is always yours.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about commissioning a pet portrait in Bristol.

Who is Jude Peace?

Jude Peace is a Bristol-based pet portrait artist who has created bespoke, hand-drawn and painted animal portraits from clients' own photographs since 2014, working in pencil, watercolour and oil.

How much does a pet portrait cost?

Each portrait is quoted individually, based on the size, the medium and the number of animals in the picture. Send your favourite photographs and you'll receive a no-obligation quote with options and timings.

How long does a commission take?

Most commissions are completed in around four to eight weeks from the photographs being approved, depending on the chosen medium and the current waiting list. Let me know if you have a deadline and I'll do my best to meet it.

What photographs do you need?

Clear, well-lit, high-resolution photographs taken at the animal's eye level work best. A few good references are ideal — send what you have and I'll help you choose the strongest one to work from.

Which mediums can I choose?

Portraits are created in graphite and coloured pencil, watercolour, or oil on canvas. If you're unsure, I'll advise the medium that best suits your photograph, your budget and where the piece will hang.

Do you create memorial portraits?

Yes. Memorial and in-memoriam portraits are a large and treasured part of my work, created with care from whatever photographs you have of a much-loved companion.

Where are you based, and do you post portraits?

The studio is based in Bristol. Finished portraits are carefully packaged and posted across the UK, so you can commission a piece wherever you live.

Can I give a portrait as a gift?

Yes — a portrait makes a deeply personal gift, and gift vouchers are available if you'd like the recipient to choose their own photograph and medium.
